“Winning isn’t everything” Linus
“But losing isn’t anything” Charlie Brown
A boy named Charlie Brown / animated film 1969
Found this on YouTube just yesterday. I haven’t seen it since it was broadcast on TV in the 70s. I clearly remember the part where Snoopy ice skates at Rockefeller centre. Those girls were sure mean to Charlie Brown.
“A person’s got to take some chances or life will never come to nothing”
Pa Otter as quoted by his widow Alice Otter to their son Emmet Otter from the 1977 Jim Henson TV special Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas. I remember watching this when it first aired more then 30 years ago. I don’t remember doing it but I have an audio cassette of the show taped when it was first aired. Every Christmas I watch some old TV Christmas shows like a cosmic Christmas, the forgotten toys, mole’s Christmas, wish for wings, wakko’s wish, and it was while searching for the last one that to my wondrous eyes and great delight up pops emmet otter’s jug band Christmas. It’s the whole show except the parts with Kermit the frog doing commentary on the show.
“You just never know what’s around the bend on life’s road”
“It’s a wonderful winter wonderland unless you have to shovel it”
“If you fear losing you shouldn’t try to win”
“If someone is running around losing their head tell them they can’t lose what they didn’t have in the first place.”
“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.”
Hard to believe a third of a century has gone by and I remember the day.
“Who are you? Really! And do you think anyone is impressed”
“What’s the difference between a child and an adult, besides the obvious? A child has NO said to them. An adult has learned to say NO to themselves.”
“Another star in the sky tonight”
“Une autre étoile dans le ciel ce soir”
Jean Beliveau 1931-2014
“Do you think you know what you’re doing? My! you’re easily convinced.”
